application for funding
We have funding available for a number of people on each programme
background
Asto was set up with the express aim of providing effective treatment for people suffering with OCD. Access to this treatment was to be available to everyone, regardless of financial means.
current situation
We want to make it clear that financially contributing to the OCD treatment programme, either during the programme, or having completed the programme, is NOT a condition for participating on the programme.
To date, we have had patients pay for the OCD programme in full, some making a contribution as they participate in the programme, and many making donations having completed the programme. We have also fully funded many patients from our charitable fundraising activities.
the future
It is important to understand that Asto does not have a limitless “pot” of money to fund the programme into the future. If patients can afford to make a contribution to the programme, or indeed pay for the programme in full, then that would help ensure that we can continue our important work into the future. Please also remember that Asto is part of a charitable group, there are no shareholders that profit from contributions made by patients.
your personal situation
Should you be accepted on the programme, we would urge you to consider what you could comfortably manage to pay towards the cost of your therapy on the OCD programme. Sue will have explained to you that the full cost of the programme is 12 weeks at £150 per week, making a total of £1,800.
If finances are tight for you, we certainly wouldn’t want to cause you any further anxiety when accessing our OCD programme. There are obviously situations that may lead you to the conclusion that you cannot afford to make a contribution. These may be that:
You are a student
You are on benefits
You are unemployed
Unless you fall into one of these categories, we urge you to consider what level of contribution you could make towards the cost of providing your therapy.
If you are able to make a contribution, we can either set up a regular payment to your credit or debit card, or indeed you can transfer the money directly to our bank account.
We ask everyone accepted for the programme to complete an Application for Funding form, even if they aren’t wanting financial support. It acts as a commitment to their funding decision for the programme. You can download the form here.
We would like to make it clear again that contributing to the OCD programme is NOT a condition of being accepted on the programme, however, any funds received will help to safeguard its future.
Thank you in advance for your understanding of this delicate subject.
